Why buy a
pet from a breeder when there are thousands of homeless animals waiting for you
to save them? I am a fierce supporter of adoption from shelters as a way of liberating
these abandoned pets from the insufficient county accommodations that provide
minimal comfort to the animals confined therein. I also however, strongly advocate
rescue organizations that are dedicated to releasing animals from such dire situations,
including euthanization.
Every pet that I have had has been adopted, and every one of those creatures was beyond loving, thankful and appreciative to be in a loving home. Barks of Love, in particular, provided me with my most recent family addition. Choosing the pup that I did from them was one of the best decisions I have made yet. He is incredibly affectionate, sweet natured, potty trained, obedient, intelligent, and the perfect companion. I cannot imagine life without him and have no one to thank other than the committed volunteers of the organization who's mission statement is as follwos:
"Barks of Love Animal Rescue is Southern California’s ALL BREED, 100% NO KILL, Foster Based 501(c)3 non-profit dog rescue managed and operated by a group of highly motivated young people who are 100% dedicated to saving dogs’ lives. This rock star team, is staffed ENTIRELY by volunteers. We consider ourselves an independent “grass roots” type of organization making a difference one dog at a time. Our goal is to work with local animal shelters that are overpopulated so that we may lessen the amount of animals being euthanized unnecessarily and help them get medically well, socially adjusted and into permanent placement. We keep dogs in our Foster Program until we’ve found their “Furever Home.” To do this, we hold weekly adoption events, advertise via our online networks, screen applicants, and hold doggie “meet and greets.” There are countless ways to support our team including various volunteer opportunities, becoming a foster parent, ADOPTING A DOG, and becoming a sponsor. Our hope is that we can at the same time educate people on how serious this issue is and how easy it is to make a difference. Our mission is simply – save as many dogs as possible."
Please contact them immediately to offer your time as either a foster parent, volunteer, or permanent pet home.
